A 42 years old patient suffering from numbness received robotic surgery in China few days back, marking the first instance of robotic surgery in China.

The artificial joint replacement surgery of the total knee is an effective method to treat severely advanced knee diseases such as surgery on the extremities, pelvic fractures and the whole spinal segment (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral vertebrae).

This robotic surgery recovery is faster than regular surgery, where the general recovery duration could last two to three weeks due to the potential for more extensive bleeding.

The total knee replacement surgery robot, named HURWA, independently developed by China with a cost of around 15 million yuan ( 34 million pkr approx). Since 2017, over 70,000 robotic surgeries had been performed in China.
